Playa Maya is a well-established resort community about 10 minutes north of the fishing Village of Celestun, famous for its huge population of pink flamingos.. It is comprised of about 50 privately-owned condo units of varied sizes. The majority of owners are from Canada and the U.S. They range from full-time residents to just a 2-week stay each year. Many (including us) spend the winter months at their Playa Maya condos to escape the frozen north! This accounts for many close friendships and annual reunions The resort is one of just two located within a protected Biosphere, making it a unique property with good stability and potential. This location also provides for ongoing entertainment from dozens of species of colorful tropical birds.
Villas can be held solely for private use, or can be placed into the “rental pool” and used as income property, or a combination of the two. Rented units are managed by an on-site management service which handle all aspects of the rental process. There is also an on-site restaurant and bar. We have not rented our unit E-6, so it is in excellent condition! It is conveniently located close to the pool and main Palapa, where the restaurant is located. We have purchased another unit in the resort and no longer have use for this one.

The beach is just steps from the large rear covered patio. This unit has had substantially clearing for one of the finest ocean views on the resort. The location on the west coast of the peninsula also provides for some great sunsets, and no hurricanes! The beach is a wide stretch of soft white sand facilitating long beach walks in both directions. The surf is typically very gentle and perfect for swimming and water sports… I frequently go paddle-boarding in the mornings.
